What is Resource Smart Schools?
“Resource Smart Schools is a free program offered by Sustainability Victoria that supports Victorian schools to embed sustainability across the school facilities, community and curriculum, while saving resources and money for the school.”
What Does This Mean for Wendouree Primary School?
The Resource Smart Schools program offers access to sustainability experts to support our ongoing mission to become a more sustainable school. We are working towards Sustainability Certification by measuring and tracking our use of resources, such as electricity, water, waste, and documenting the biodiversity within our school grounds. Currently we have a 2-Star rating, having completed our Core and Biodiversity modules

We will continue our journey of achieving higher star certification and completing Resource Smart School modules. At Wendouree Primary School we have a proud history of embracing recycling initiatives and embedding them into our whole school curriculum. We have recently introduced multi bin systems within our entire school and actively work with local organisations, groups and councils to further educate our school community on the values of recycling and sustainability.
